The Caterer

Food, I hate to break it to you but it is a huge part of what people look forward to at a wedding. Some travel crazy distances to be there and may be in a rush to get over to your ceremony, on top of that weddings are just long days in general. Now in order to prevent crabby guests you need to make sure that you have the food taken care of. From personal experience I have suggestions. If you have a specific seating chart, I recommend considering a plated meal. This ensures that all guests have a meal and even allows guests to chose food based off of the options you provide them. On the other hand if you are not having a RSVP wedding guests only reception and want to provide your guests with a buffet meal, here is what I suggest. Whatever you do, do not leave the buffet line without staff or family as servers, unless you decide to order twice as much food as you think you will need. But, even then this is a big risk. It is unbelievable to me how many times couples have had catered food without any staff to serve out portions and by the time half of their guests go through the line there is barely any to no food left for the rest of the guests. Guests at a wedding tend to treat themselves (as they should) because weddings are usually a vacation destination for most, therefore they treat it like that. With this in mind guests tend to go all out at buffets so you have to expect that they will be taking mountains of food if they are serving themselves. So please take it from me because I have seen disasters before, if you are doing a buffet make sure you have people to serve the meal.
