The Dress

One of the biggest wedding decisions to this day is choosing the perfect dress, to pick the one that fits you just right and shows your unique style. Not only is the shape of the dress important to make sure it fits the bride well, but it is important to make sure it is the appropriate fit for your celebration. When finding your perfect dress, it is important that you set your wants and needs. Questions in turn must be answered… Will you be dancing a lot? Are you being married outside? How about walking a lot or dancing? Answering all your want and need questions before dress shopping will help choosing the perfect fit for you. At the Bluebelle in Bemidji, the ceremony site is down a windy dirt path. When marrying at venues such as this one, it is important to consider cleanliness of your dress. Will the my dress be damaged or dirty? No one wants a dirty wedding dress for their wedding photos, so make sure to think of these things ahead. And then there is the dance… the celebration of a life of love. Are you the bride that wants to keep your dress on for the whole night? Hey, I don’t blame you, I mean you pay a lot and you only get one day in it, so you might as well make the most of it. If you are going to be wearing your dress all night hear is another thing to think about. Can I dance in this dress? Is it going to be itchy or uncomfortable or will I be tripping on it all night? Most often when a wedding dress is damaged it is from the dance. People have spilt drinks all over the floor and guests are walking in and out from outside stepping onto the floor with their dirty shoes. Its just not a good combination. If you have the option I recommend looking into getting a bustle which is a hidden button on the back of the dress that allows you to seamlessly attach the train to the back of the dress. This allows better movement and will keep your dress clean throughout the night. If your dress shape is more ballgown style, maybe consider getting it hemmed up a little from the floor that way it does not drag in any dirt.
